We propose refounding the Media Pod to continue and enhance the work achieved over the past 8 months. Building on the foundation established, this proposal aims to further professionalize/keep the pod media operations. The focus is on maintaining a streamlined, targeted approach to media activities, fostering growth, and delivering consistent, high quality content. By ensuring continuity, this initiative strengthens the pod’s impact while setting new standards for effectiveness and collaboration within the ecosystem.
Over the past 8 months, the Gnars Media Pod has played a key role in growing the presence and credibility of the GnarsDAO Action Sports Onchain initiative. Starting with an initial 2 month trial, we successfully hosted the Gnars Contest, aligning our social media efforts with a consistent and radical aesthetic that embodies the DAO’s unique identity.
By collaborating with athletes, artists, gnars community e Lilnouns (shout out for this guys) we fostered daily interactions, producing high quality content that showcased important proposals, events, and achievements. These contributions significantly increased GnarsDAO’s visibility and strengthened its connections with Web3 and Web2 audiences.
Through countless posts, photos, videos, and narratives, we demonstrated the immense value of dedicated shredders. Our ongoing efforts celebrate GnarsDAO’s / Nouns mission while expanding its impact across digital platforms. With a unique branding that only Gnars possesses.
The first proposal from the Podmedia team can be found at this link, should you wish to review it. It's worth noting that we executed more actions and activities than were initially outlined in the proposal. Below, you'll find a summarized overview of key metrics and reflections on our work over time, following the recovery and restructuring of Gnars' social media platforms across various communication channels.
Warpcast: We managed the @gnars profile on Warpcast (currently the most trending social platform in our field). Through this channel, we were able to share updates on various proposals in a more technical tone compared to Instagram, while consistently keeping the /gnars channel populated with posts from the profile. We believe this brings incredible credibility to the DAO when people visit the channel or profile, they see a dedicated team reporting ongoing activities, even in simplified formats. When we took over the @gnars, it was mainly populated with bot like Daily Actions posts. Today, Gnars boasts a vibrant, cohesive profile with a defined color scheme and plenty of meaningful work shared.
We also created and adapted a profile for Gnars on Nounspace, which is fantastic since it’s a project approved by Nouns and a partner of Farcaster. The profile features four distinct tabs: Profile, Learn, Proposals, and Newsletters, providing a comprehensive dashboard that differentiates key areas for community consultation and engagement.
Designs / Artes: As outlined in the proposal, a portion of the budget was allocated for the creation of Gnars specific designs and illustrations, and this has been successfully implemented. In this folder, you will find a collection of designs created for Gnars merchandise, including a special design for the DevCon conference. Additionally, we developed a 3D filter of the Gnars icon, designed for use on Metabusiness filters via Spark, as well as interactive filters for the Nogglesboard skateboards. Members of the Nouns ecosystem have already utilized these filters on several occasions. These designs infuse artistic energy into the "Action Sports Onchain" community, and we believe they add significant value to the ecosystem.
Youtube/Videos: Over the months, several special Gnars videos have been produced, featuring additional material from Shredders as well as events such as the launch of That’s Gnarly, the Gnars Contest, the Gnars year end special, and themed specials for surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding. Regarding YouTube, we experienced delays in accessing the account, which limited the profile's growth compared to other social networks. However, we’ve begun working on posting videos to keep the channel active while connecting it with other YouTube channels in the Nouns ecosystem. The goal is to professionalize this YouTube content consistently, aiming to grow the channel and strengthen its impact over time.
Gnars Community Profile: We established the Gnars Community profile on Zora, where we posted materials developed during the DevCon trip by the PodMedia team. These NFTs were minted by prominent figures in the ecosystem, such as Jesse Pollak, Jacob, and our beloved Gnars OGs. This organically enabled a bonding curve due to the number of mints, resulting in the creation of the community's first meme coin. The Gnars treasury benefited from the division of mint rewards across the three posts, as well as secondary rewards as trading of "Gnars Styland" began. Here, I will share the link to this channel, the meme coin created, and the Gnars Thai retrospective. We believe that this type of creation represents a viral and value adding content model for the community.
Cloud and Organization: We successfully organized all large video creation files methodically using the Terabox platform. This platform serves as a robust database, housing various folders dedicated to Gnars developments, ensuring efficient access and management of resources.
A folder has been created on Terabox for shredders and artists to share their Gnars creations.
Gnars Google Drive link (Please feel free to contribute highquality assets to the Gnars community across the different categories we have in the drive, from Gnars works to shredder content)
Social Media Management: Provide consistent and engaging content across Instagram/Warpcast/Youtube, maintaining a daily posting schedule.
Video Content Creation: Develop a steady stream of high quality videos showcasing our athletes, community events, and creative projects.
Gnars News: We propose launching a blog style communication effort inspired by Satori's Gnarly News. This initiative aims to monetize the Gnars treasury by splitting rewards and promoting high quality written NFT content using platforms like Paragraph or Mirror and Hive Ecosystem which has generated 8K USDC. The work could continue through the existing Gnarly News page or leverage the Gnars Community profile we’ve created. The plan includes documenting and highlighting key proposals (current initiatives, sports, public goods, and artistic projects), significant crypto moments, and providing an overview for the community. Content would be shared across Warpcast, Discord, X, and more.
Branding: Ensure all content aligns with GnarsDAO's branding guidelines, promoting a cohesive and recognizable identity.
Community Engagement: Strengthen the GnarsDAO brand through strategic media, storytelling, and interaction with our audience. Boost the main posts and achievements of athletes and the gnars community on IG.
Growth and Interaction: Increase followers and engagement through community activities, collaborations, and interactive posts.
Develop a monthly content calendar featuring athlete highlights, Web3 project updates, creative content, and community stories. Regularly produce and release videos that capture the spirit and activities of the GnarsDAO community. Assist with the structural and audiovisual aspects of organizing another Gnars Contest, along with interactive posts to boost engagement. Ensure all media aligns with GnarsDAO's branding guidelines to maintain a cohesive identity. Use analytics tools to monitor growth and engagement, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize performance. Work daily in a gnarly and professional manner.
During the next six months, PodMedia will focus on creating engaging content across Instagram, Warpcast, and YouTube, showcasing athletes, events, and creative projects. We’ll also curate onchain creations from shredders and the community via the Gnars Community profile, strengthening engagement and collaboration between the DAO.
Inspired by Gnars News, we’ll launch blogstyle posts to document key moments and proposals, minting them as NFTs on platforms like Paragraphy and Hive to promote high quality NFT content. By maintaining consistent communication, enhancing the YouTube channel, and aligning with GnarsDAO branding, we aim to boost interactions, grow our audience, and keep the community thriving with daily work.
We view this work as vital to ensuring GnarsDAO remains the hottest DAO in the Sports/Art space while keeping our network of users and collaborators informed and engaged. Thank you for your support. Let’s build, stay gnarly, and keep it Nounish!
